Organisational Units

The Organisational Units section in WILSON allows you to model and manage your company structure in a clear and efficient way.
Using this feature helps improve transparency, control access rights, and accurately represent how your organisation operates.

This area is particularly useful for larger organisations or businesses with multiple depots, projects or contracts. However, it is not mandatory β€” WILSON can also be used fully without setting up organisational units.

Accessing organisational units

To access Organisational Units, go to Settings and then select Organisational Units.

Overview page

The overview page shows a list of all organisational units currently set up in the system.

Adding a new organisational unit

To add a new organisational unit:

Click the Add button

Enter the name of the unit and any additional information

Confirm your input β€” the new unit will then be added to the list

Detail view and sub-units

Clicking on an organisational unit in the list opens the detail view for that unit. From here, you can:

Define sub-units

Sub-units allow you to further refine your organisational structure and represent it as a hierarchical tree.
For example, you can create depots, departments, teams, projects or other subdivisions.

Organisational units and permissions

Organisational units play a key role in managing access rights within WILSON:

In the user profile, access permissions can be assigned for specific organisational units

Depending on their permissions, users will only see data (e.g. employees, shifts or assignments) related to the organisational units they are assigned to

Every user must be assigned to an organisational unit. This assignment determines which information and areas of the system the user can access

Notes

While organisational units are recommended for larger or more complex organisations, the software also works without this structure.
They serve as an additional tool to simplify administration and governance for companies with more complex operational setups.

Organisational units are a powerful way to accurately reflect your organisational structure and manage permissions efficiently.
